Paul Caruso

“CBM and Shale Gas Specialist"

Paul Caruso is an unconventional reservoir analyst specializing in shale gas and coal bed methane projects. They call him “Shaleman” because he digs shale. Caruso lives in Golden, Colorado and is currently working as a data analyst preparing detailed reports that characterize natural gas content in unconventional reservoirs (shale and coal). His job also entails client communication, presentations, project management and data QC. He has written final reservoir property reports including gas-in-place analysis on shale and coal reservoirs for over 40 wells in 14 basins throughout the United States. He has also written reports for international coal bed methane plays in Australia, Korea and the UK. Mr. Caruso has a strong background in rock mechanics, geophysics, sequence stratigraphy and seismic hazard analysis. He is adept with a multitude of software programs including all Microsoft Office programs, ArcView, Oasis Montaj, ENVI and Petra. Furthermore, Mr. Caruso is an excellent writer and an experienced public speaker and is able to explain complex geological or geophysical methods to experts or laypeople in terms that are comprehensive and easy to understand.

· Over 40 final reports for natural gas wells in 14 basins within the US, as well as Australia, Korea and the UK detailing field operations, lab analysis procedures, gas composition, total gas content, reservoir storage capacities, free gas, gas in place and critical desorption pressure for coal bed and shale reservoirs in a specific well.

· 10 final reports for the Corelabs Gas Shale Consortium Study that include a summary of field operations, lab analysis procedures, gas composition, rock-eval, TOC, total gas content and reservoir storage capacities for shale gas reservoirs.
